The last day of the work week is considered as “Fly-Day” by many but for Mabini‘s Vector Control Team, it’s Clean-up Drive Every Friday.
In line with the LGU’s implementation of the Solid Waste Management Program, the clean-up drive was planned by Mayor Alimar R. Briana and implemented by Mr. Keith Balintos, Municipal Sanitation Inspector III, and his team, to provide and maintain a hygienic area for people selling and buying in the public market.
The team cleans around the market area and drains, trashes, and piles any structures scattered around. It also makes sure that silt and trash are removed from the canals to eliminate the stinky odor of the area.
The team was issued disinfectant, spray for flies, and other cleaning materials.
Market vendors attest to the clean-up drive and they are thankful and amazed to see the positive change in terms of cleanliness and safety in the market.
The clean-up drive is also inspired by ALIguas maCOLIN Mabini. As this utilitarian activity continues in the coming weeks, volunteers are welcome to join.
