Mayor Alimar R. Briana was thankful for the arrival of piles of Galvanized Iron (GI) sheets from the National Housing, thru the Provincial Office, for families affected by Typhoon Lando in October 2015.
In an interview, Mayor Ali said he did not expect the G.I. sheets, but now that they were there, he was thankful to both the National Housing and to the Provincial Office.
In October 18-20, 2015, Typhoon Lando ravaged the Municipality of Mabini and other places in Northern Luzon. The typhoon destroyed thousands of houses in this town.
Municipal Social Welfare and Development head Madam Teresa Ragudos, together with her team, assisted in the arrival and piling of the G.I. sheets.
Around 11,800 pieces of G.I. sheets arrived. Mayor Ali reserved 200 pieces for emergency situations and for the roofing of the municipal dental clinic. The remaining G.I. sheets were awaiting distribution to the victims of typhoon, thru the respective barangay officials, in sixteen (16) barangays.
The distribution of the said roofing materials is a great help to the less fortunate families of Mabini who were affected by the typhoon because of the high cost of G.I. sheets in the market.
