In support with President Rodrigo Duterte’s campaign against illegal drugs, the Municipality of Mabini, headed by Mayor Alimar R. Briana, conducts three (3) days of training on Anti-Drugs Abuse on September 12-13, 2016 at the 3rd Floor, Municipal Hall.
The training aims to strengthen the Anti-Drug Abuse Council of the Municipality and Barangay level. It also targets to enhance the capabilities concerned MDAC (Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council) and BADAC (Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council) to enable them to efficiently and effectively respond to the tasks of making their barangays and schools drug-free.
The training was attended by the Punong Barangays with other barangay officials from the sixteen barangays, personnel from the Rural Health Unit, staff from different departments of the Municipal Hall, and representatives from the religious sector.
The speakers of this training were from the Treatment and rehabilitation Center (TRC) Dagupan City. They discussed about the Community Based Treatment Program, Intensive Out-patient Matrix Program and Assessment and screening tools.
The program formally started with the opening remarks of Madam Teresa Aurea L. Ragudos, MSWDO followed by the messages of Mayor Alimar R. Briana and Vice Mayor Colin A. Reyes.
MLGOO Madam Maricel A. Sison imparted the existing laws, and memorandum circulars on Anti-Drug while the Mabini Police led by PSINSP Ferdinand S. Lopez informed the training participants about the current situation, accomplishmentss and plan of activities of the substance abusers.
The representative from the religious sector, Sister Sonia Fullo shared techniques on how to conduct interviews and counseling to the substance abusers.
After the said training, the MADAC and MADAC will monitor the anti-drug campaign to ensure a drug free community.
This campaign against drugs is still part of ALIguas maCOLIN Mabini tandem of Mayor Ali and Vice Mayor Colin.
