Through the dynamic support and partnership of stakeholders, policies have been devised and implemented to eradicate the use of illegal drugs, now Mabini has been declared as Drug-Fee Municipality on the morning of Wednesday, November 8, 2017.
Since the start of the PNP’s Double Barrel Project as part of the government’s anti-drug campaign in July last year, the local police was able to account 143 drug personalities in the municipality.
All surrendered drug personalities have undergone and completed preventive education seminars and symposium, as well as the establishment of a Community Base Rehabilitation Programs conducted by Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Social Welfare Development Office (DSWD) Local Government Unit of Mabini and Religious sectors.
After the assessment and evaluation on these surrendered drug personalities, they have become useful and productive members of their respective families, and most especially they have stayed away from drugs.
Finally, on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, the signing and declaration of Drug – Free Municipality was held in Mabini Public Plaza.
Different stakeholders such as the PNP, PDEA, DOH, MASA MASID (Mamayang Ayaw Sa Droga, Mamamayang Ayaw Sa Anumalya) Teams, High School Heads, Sangguniang Bayan Members, Department Heads of Mabini, were gathered for the said event together with the drug surrenderees.
The event was started by the Welcome Remarks & Introduction of Guests & VIP’s by Municipal Mayor Alimar R. Briana.

Hon. Colin A. Reyes, Municipal Vice Mayor read the Board Resolution.
The sixteen (16) barangays of the Municipality of Mabini were declared drug-free by Dir. Bryan B. Babang, Regional Director, PDEA RO1.
Dir. Bryan B. Babang awarded the Certificates to the Drug-Free Barangays.
The event’s guest speaker is Hon. Napoleon Fontelera Jr., acting governor.
The signing of Drug Free Tarpulin was led by the Municipal Mayor Alimar R. Briana, Vice Mayor Colin A. Reyes and Sangguniang Bayan Members.
